Poll indicates possible Democratic swing for Miss. in presidential election
In 2016, a new poll indicates the possibility exists for the state to go to the Democrats again.
Mason-Dixon Polling and Research released on Tuesday the results of a poll on the presidential election based on telephone interviews with 625 registered Mississippi voters.
In a one-on-one matchup, Republican Donald Trump leads Democrat Hillary Clinton 46 percent to 43 percent with 11 percent undecided. The poll has a margin of error or plus or minus four percent.
The survey found that if the GOP nominee is Ted Cruz, he would beat Clinton in Mississippi 51 percent to 40 percent. John Kasich does slightly better in a 52 percent to 37 percent race.
