Taken from Congressman Trent Kelly’s Facebook:
“Today, the House voted, with my support, to make improvements to the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). This important legislation strengthens the process for vetting travelers seeking to enter the United States and updates information sharing requirements between countries participating in the program. If signed into law, the bill would require all individuals who have visited specified nations like Syria and Iraq to be interviewed by U.S. officials and go through the traditional process of obtaining a visa before being admitting into the U.S., even if they are from countries participating in the VWP. Reports that thousands of individuals from VWP countries have traveled to countries like Syria to join and train with ISIS militants increases the importance of safeguarding the process and protecting American lives.”
