Tate Reeves touts education funding, reform during campaign stop in Ocean Springs

Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves said providing more funding for public education in Mississippi won’t solve the state’s educational problem unless the money is being spent wisely.

“There will be those who will never think we spend enough on education,” Reeves said. “While we try to focus on spending more on public education, we also have to be smarter about how we’re spending it.”

Reeves spoke with The Mississippi Press Thursday afternoon while on a walking tour of downtown Ocean Springs. Reeves was in town at the invitation of Rep. Hank Zuber, an Ocean Springs native, who accompanied Reeves on the tour.
