State senate honors journalist Bill Minor
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) –
During the tumultuous years of the Civil Rights Movement, only a handful of reporters accurately reported what was happening in Mississippi and across the South.
On Wednesday at the State Capitol, the senate honored one of those reporters.
Bill Minor covered Mississippi for the New Orleans Times Picayune until 1976, when he started his own paper, The Capitol Reporter.
He’s 92 now, and he still writes a syndicated column. He also still keeps a close eye on those in power.
