Some other changes came in district races, with Carlos Moore withdrawing from the House 34 race, but Reta Holden added her name to the hopefuls.

Moore, a Grenada-based attorney, said today that he has been selected by Mississippi Democratic Party Chairman Rickey Cole to be the new chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party’s Finance Council.

The Finance Council is a collection of the party’s largest donors, and it will be Moore’s responsibility to lead and grow this group.

While “excited about the opportunity to help revitalize this crucial part of the Mississippi Democratic Party,” Moore said the new responsibility would make it too difficult for him to effectively campaign for a seat in the House seat at this time.
