Pro-marijuana group begins effort to collect signatures for ballot initiative
JACKSON, Miss. –
Wednesday marked the beginning of a local group’s push to get enough signatures to put legalizing marijuana on the 2016 ballot…
…The Mississippi secretary of state’s office sent Mississippi for Cannabis its petition this past week. The group must now get more than 107,000 signatures by October.
If the measure passes, Mississippi for Cannabis said it would want the state to regulate the drug like it does alcohol and keep it out of the hands of minors.
