Republicans list Sen. Harry Reid as number one target in 2016
The stunning Republican victory in the midterm elections appears to be only the beginning of their future plans. There is a concerted effort underway to unseat soon-to-be former Senate Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid in his 2016 bid for re-election.
In fact, less than an hour after Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker became the new chairman of the Republican’s National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, he announced Sen. Reid would be the “big target” in 2016. Wicker spoke to Newsmax shortly after winning the position over Nevada Sen. Dean Heller.
Sen. Wicker is convinced that the senatorial victories on November 4th can be increased in the 2016 campaign. He said, “Absolutely. We can pick up a couple of seats and Nevada is certainly one of them. We definitely see an opportunity to win the seat we should have won in 2010.”
