Wicker discusses GOP rift, highways, military
U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker said the recent fallout from Mississippi’s bitter Senate primary race shows a need for “healing” in the Republican party.
While Wicker isn’t up for re-election until 2016, he said the tide of tea party support state Sen. Chris McDaniel received in his hotly contested primary battle against incumbent U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran, and the resulting conflict after the election, shows Republicans must fix the division in the party.
