McDaniel sues Ranking Co. Circuit Clerk to see poll books
Chris McDaniel has a filed a lawsuit against the Rankin County Circuit Clerk Rebecca Boyd accusing her of withholding poll books of election results from the public, Rankin Board of Supervisors attorney Craig Slay told the board Tuesday.
Slay said there seems to be a misunderstanding about the law regulating who can see poll books after an election. The circuit clerk may hold the records in her possession 21 days after the election, and after that point, the records may be shown to the public after being redacted, according to Clay.
