Cochran, McDaniel Head Into Last Week In Senate Runoff Race
Cochran campaign spokesman Austin Barbour told us Tuesday they’re taking nothing for granted.
“We know what it takes to have a very organized ground game, and we’re proud of hitting 60,000 doors our volunteers from the coast to Desoto, from the Delta to the hills and we’re statewide and we think we can double that number between now and election day,” said Barbour.
Meantime, Cochran’s opponent, state senator McDaniel’s tea party supporters also reaching out to voters all across the state.
We have knocked on “over 14,000 doors in Mississippi, we’ve made over 25,000 phone calls to voters of Mississippi today we will knock on 8,000 doors today,” said Jenny Beth Martin, Founder of the Tea Party Patriots Fund.
McDaniel came away with a small lead over Cochran after more than 300,000 votes were cast in the June 3rd Republican primary.
