Cole urges Democrats to avoid GOP’s mudbath
One of the more persistent rumors in an otherwise quiet Democratic primary campaign is the one that has Democrats voting in the GOP primary to help elect the person they perceive to be the weakest candidate.
Not so, says Democratic Chairman Rickey Cole, who Wednesday sent an email with “Avoid the mud” in the subject line.
“Mississippi election law permits voters to choose which primary to participate in without pre-registering as either a Democrat or a Republican,” Cole wrote. “We urge Democrats to vote in the Democratic Primary.
“Let’s unite to send a message that Mississippi is tired of the divisive mudslinging. On Tuesday, June 3, vote in the Democratic primary.”
