Alan Nunnelee ‘doing well’ after health scare
TUPELO — U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee said Friday he is “doing well” a week after doctors found a small abnormality on his brain.
Nunnelee, who lives in Tupelo and represents Mississippi’s 1st Congressional District, was released from the hospital May 9 after a brief visit. On Friday, he was in Tupelo to recognize area students who had received appointments to military academies.
“I’m so encouraged and doing well,” he said. “We have to find out exactly what we’re dealing with, but we’ve had some good reports the last few days. I’m impressed by the outpouring of support.”
The congressman also said he was eager to continue working.
“I can walk and chew gum at the same time,” he said. “… I have a job to do.”
