RELEASE: Palazzo Statement on Select Committee on Benghazi
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steven Palazzo, (MS-4), released the following statement after voting in favor of a measure to establish a Select Committee to investigate the 2012 terrorist attack on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The measure passed by a vote of 232-186.
“The September 11, 2012 terrorist attacks on our consulate in Benghazi have hung over our nation like a dark cloud. The loss of four American lives shocked the public and sparked outrage, fear, disbelief and heartache. Today I voted with the House to move forward with a select committee to investigate the attack at Benghazi. I know my friend, Representative Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, will be a fair yet tough leader as he searches for answers for the grief-stricken family members of these four fallen Americans.”
