McDaniel campaigns in Meridian, receiving a lukewarm reception it would seem

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 24, 2014

Sources in Meridian tell Y’all Politics the reception Chris McDaniel received at Jean’s Restaurant was a mixed bag, with the campaign able to generate very little enthusiasm from the patrons.

Here’s the WTOK report: McDaniel campaigns in Meridian

A Mississippi state senator was on the campaign trail in Meridian Friday, as he seeks higher office.

Republican Chris McDaniel visited the popular lunch spot, Jean’s Restaurant. He says there needs to be a change in Washington.

McDaniel who is from Laurel has been a Mississippi State Senator for the past 6 years. This past year he decided to take his visions to Washington, by running against long time US Senator Thad Cochran. McDaniel says it’s time for new leaders to take their place in Washington…

…While many of McDaniel’s viewpoints have been on the mind of many Americans, some just aren’t ready to give up on Senator Cochran because of his seniority.

“I admire both of them a lot,” said citizen Mike Covert. “Both of them are dedicated family men, believe in their family and believe in their country, but I’m going to have to vote for the man that’s in office to show him the respect for what he’s done”

McDaniel will be running against U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran in the Republican Primary June 3.
