17 House Democrats support pay raise for themselves, amendment authored by Rep. Omeria Scott #msleg

Democratic state Rep. Omeria Scott filed an amendment on a legislative appropriations bill Thursday that would give legislators a $1,000 pay raise.

The amendment was obviously a waste of time and mere political theater on the taxpayers’ dime. To prove that point, Scott voted against her own amendment.

But 17 Democrats voted in favor of the amendment – Bailey, Blackmon, Burnett, Campbell, Clarke, Coleman (29th), Coleman (65th), Ellis, Espy, Gibbs, Harrison, Huddleston (30th), Middleton, Smith (27th), Straughter, Thomas, Wooten.

These Democrats must feel awfully comfortable in their reelection bids coming next year.

Perhaps their constituents would like to know how they voted… Glad we could help get the information out there!
