State Set for Takeover of Scott County Schools
Mississippi officials will consider taking control of the Scott County school system Thursday.
The Commission on School Accreditation will consider a takeover at its meeting, and the state Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting to affirm the action.
Gov. Phil Bryant must approve an emergency declaration before officials can appoint a conservator, deposing the current superintendent and school board.
