Anderson, House’s youngest member, plans to listen, learn

The first impression of the state’s youngest House member?

“Oh my goodness,” said Jeramey Anderson, 22, of Moss Point. “What should I do?”

Anderson took a front-row seat on the House floor for the opening of the 2014 legislative session. It was a short session, preceded by an anti-Common Core rally in the Capitol lobby. Not much business was conducted. Songs were sung, various visitors recognized and an appeal made for donations to the Salvation Army. It was over in a little more than 30 minutes.

Anderson was in the thick of it — beaming, shaking hands, soaking in the prestige of the office.
