NUNNELEE: DEMOCRATS MUST COME TO THE TABLE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss.) released a statement following House passage of legislation to pay essential federal employees and form a bipartisan, bicameral deficit reduction working group:
“We cannot end the shutdown or fix the long term fiscal issues facing our nation if the Democrats in control of the White House and Senate refuse to negotiate. The American people expect us to talk to each other and find solutions to the $17 trillion debt currently strangling economic growth and threatening our grandchildren’s future.”
Congressman Alan Nunnelee represents Mississippi’s First Congressional District. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Budget Committee. This is his second term.
