Bryant promoting health care during summit

Gov. Phil Bryant will promote Mississippi’s health care industry as an economic development tool during Thursday’s Governor’s Health Care Economic Development Summit at the Jackson Convention Complex.

Last year, Bryant signed into law the Mississippi Health Care Industry Zone Act, a business incentive program for those in the health care industry who create 25 new jobs or invest $10 million in the state.

The program, administered by the Mississippi Development Authority, encourages health care businesses to locate in designated health care zones. It provides a major tax break for eligible companies that satisfy the requirements.
