Bryant, lawmakers, NRA want to join gun lawsuit
Gov. Phil Bryant, about 80 lawmakers, the National Rifle Association and others have asked the Mississippi Supreme Court to let them file briefs in support of the state’s open carry law.
The court had not ruled on the requests as of Monday. The motions filed by Bryant, the lawmakers and the NRA included their arguments in support of the law.
A brief has not yet been filed by those who brought the lawsuit, including Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith.
