SUN HERALD Editorial: State Treasurer Lynn Fitch demonstrates the value of an audit
For the first time since it was created in 1996, the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition Plan, or MPACT, has undergone an actuarial audit.
The results are sobering.
State Treasurer Lynn Fitch, who chairs MPACT’s board of directors, last fall suggested suspending MPACT enrollment until an audit was conducted of the program’s finances.
Her concerns have been confirmed.
