Diamondhead lawmaker found with fatal gunshot wound
State Rep. Jessica Upshaw, an attorney and a lawmaker for more than eight years, was dead from an apparent gunshot wound when authorities responded to a call from a Mendenhall home Sunday afternoon, legislators said.
The Republican from Diamondhead was 53. She was single and had a daughter and grandchild.
No charges have been filed. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is reviewing her death.
