Truck thief no match for JPD, 3 Mississippi lawmakers

Here’s something you don’t see every day: three Mississippi lawmakers at the Capitol, arm-in-arm singing the theme song to “Cops” – “Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do …”

They were celebrating the recovery of Gautier Rep. John Read’s 2008 F-250 pickup truck, which was stolen – as they watched – while they had lunch at Chimneyville Barbecue on High Street near the Capitol on Thursday.

“I had been running a little late (for lunch), so I just parked it right there off the street, and I left the keys in the truck,” said Read. “We’re sitting there eating, and I said, ‘Dang, that looks like my truck – that is my truck!’”
