A long-awaited study confirms Jackson can support a downtown arena, but the city is no closer to having the money to build one.
Still, the feasibility study is an encouraging sign for city officials and business leaders who have long insisted Jackson can support such a facility.
“One promoter noted that ‘Jackson is an attractive, untapped market that is underserved by events,’ ” said Ryan Conway, a project manager who helped develop the study. “That was one of the most compelling quotes that we heard when we reached out to the market.”
