Most Miss. voters have photo ID
More than 98 percent of voters surveyed after the November general election had at least one acceptable photo identification that would satisfy the state’s Voter ID law, says Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann.
On Wednesday, Hosemann released results of a survey of 5,965 voters from all demographic groups that showed 98.3 percent interviewed after exiting polls had at least one form of acceptable photo ID.
Armed with the results, Hosemann said he hopes the information will help gain U.S. Department of Justice approval for the state’s voter ID law.
