Mississippi representative Nunnelee won’t change focus in his new term
Alan Nunnelee hasn’t made plans for Dec.23 or 26, but he hopes the “fiscal cliff” debate won’t intrude into the holidays, the freshman Republican said as his first term ends this month.
“Surely we’ll be home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,” he said in an interview.
As it did two years ago, just being a part of Congress still excites the former Tupelo businessman and state senator.
“It’s exciting to be part of history. I walk to work every day and I see the Capitol dome. That puts a lump in my throat,” he said.
