U.S. Rep. Gregg Harper has dropped out of the running for House Republican Conference secretary, but he might be in line for chairmanship of the Administration Commitee, Roll Call reports.
Harper is second ranking Republican on the committee, and a subcommittee chair. Current Administration Chair Dan Lungren, R-Calif., is trailing a Democratic challenger in a close race that still hasn’t been called.
