Past Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Oliver Diaz Jr. could see his story on the silver screen
Filmmakers spent the past week in Mississippi, conducting research for a movie that carries the working title, “The Oliver Diaz Story.”
Diaz, of course, is the former Mississippi Supreme Court justice that federal authorities tried repeatedly to convict.
Prosecutors claimed that campaign loans from Paul Minor were actually bribes, but Diaz recused himself and never ruled in any of Minor’s cases (unlike one justice who did accept a $40,000 campaign loan and did write a decision in Minor’s favor but was never prosecuted).
