PSC’s Presley slates visits to Desoto

Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley will be in two locations in DeSoto County next week to promote interaction with the rural community and to spread the word about Lifeline Awareness Week respectively.

The two separate campaigns intersect this week in the county on the same day, Sept.13, first in Hernando and then in Walls.

In Hernando, the Commissioner will present the Lifeline program for those customers who are having difficulty paying their bills. The program provides a discount on home or cell phone bills of up to $111 a year.

“Lifeline provides real help for real people who need it,” Presley said of the event. “I want to do all I can to make sure every qualifying telephone customer knows about Lifeline and has an opportunity to apply for the discount.”
