4th Congressional District Democratic nominee Michael Herrington has withdrawn from the race, this according to a letter obtained by the Hattiesburg Patriot.
Herrington states the reason as his mother’s health and the strain on his family and their business.
According to § 23-15-317, Mississippi Democrats have 2 days to submit a replacement candidate in MS04. This will not be an easy task. Any smart up and coming Democrat will not want to be a sacrificial lamb for the party.
Yall Politics attempted to contact Mississippi Democratic Party Chairman Rickey Cole for comment but did not receive a response.
