Haley Barbour on What Mitt Romney Needs to Prove
Former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour sat down with Shannon Bream from Tampa, Florida. Having dealt with extreme weather conditions, Barbour explained that while Tropical Storm Isaac seems to be tracking westward, the winds will still be a problem for areas of Florida, which is why the Republican Party leaders have been cautious when it comes to taking the appropriate safety measures.
The latest polls show that President Obama has the lead by about one point. Barbour said that in order to gain an advantage, Romney needs to show how he’s been successful on his own and save businesses and jobs. The GOP candidate also needs to show who he is as a person. Barbour recalled how Romney inherited a large sum of money from his father when he passed away, and instead of keeping it, he gave it away to charity.
