Patience has limit, Mississippi auditor says of Greg Davis payment
State Auditor Stacey Pickering said during a stop in Hernando Thursday that he expects full payment “sooner rather than later” from Southaven Mayor Greg Davis.
Davis still owes nearly $74,000 of more than $170,000 ordered repaid by Pickering’s office because of questionable spending. The total includes penalties and interest.
Davis, who was not at the DeSoto County Republican Women’s gathering in Hernando where Pickering spoke, could not be reached for comment. The mayor has been under investigation by the state and FBI since late last year for spending of city funds.
“Is there a limit to our patience? Correct,” Pickering said of the amount still owed by Davis.
