Scott Brewster, the former Newt Gingrich for President Mississippi liaison, has formed a Facebook group entitled “Friends of Chris McDaniel for US Senate.”
Speculation has long swirled around a possible run for the US Senate by McDaniel, currently a state senator and attorney from Laurel. He is also a frequent contributor here to Yall Politics.
Many have predicted that current US Senator Thad Cochran will not seek reelection in 2014. If Cochran does retire, a number of current office holders will surely jump into the mix besides McDaniel, names such as Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, State Auditor Stacey Pickering, and possibly one of the three Republican US Congressmen (Palazzo, Harper or Nunnelee).
