Mississippi Power asks Supreme Court for rate hike
Last month, the PSC declined to raise rates and await a court decision on the Mississippi Sierra Club’s challenge to the project. Today, the company filed a motion for “interim rate relief” which the company says is necessary to save customers millions in financing costs. It was also reported Monday that the plant is already near the $2.88 billion cost cap imposed by the PSC, though the project is only about 25 percent complete.
