Walter Anderson Museum of Art adding galleries, pavilion
The Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs will break ground Friday for construction of two new galleries, a new entry pavilion and new and larger gift shop.
U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran, a Republican from Mississippi, is scheduled to speak at the 9:30 a.m. on the museum grounds.
The Walter Anderson Museum of Art opened its doors in May of 1991 and attracts about 29,000 visitors per year.
It is located next to the city’s community center where the walls contain murals by Walter Anderson.
