House members disclose assets

Members are only required to provide values in vague ranges for their assets and liabilities, which explains the inexact figures. For the value of stocks or bonds earning investment income from dividends, for example, the ranges are $15,000 to $50,000 or $50,001 to $100,000.

U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee, R-Miss., could have as much as $875,000 in assets, has four mortgages on properties in Clinton, Miss., and Tupelo, Miss., and has pension annuity agreement with the state of Mississippi, where he served as a state senator. He also received a $26,000 consulting fee from Allied Funeral Associates.
