Pickering’s letter chastised Southaven aldermen

The Mississippi auditor’s office warned Southaven aldermen in a March 16 letter that they were running the risk of being held liable for charges made by Mayor Greg Davis if they did not immediately review the items in question.

Special Asst. Atty. Gen. Melissa C. Patterson chastised board members in the letter for not having complied with a January request to review the charges — the letter did not state a dollar amount — that Davis made to his city-issued BancorpSouth credit card.

“After six weeks, only three aldermen have complied with this request: Greg Guy, Ronnie Hale and George Payne,” Patterson wrote in the certified letter sent to each alderman.
