YallPolitics has learned that Democratic Attorney General Jim Hood has hired outside attorney, personal friend, and former Democratic Attorney General Mike Moore to negotiate on behalf of and represent the State of Mississippi in its litigation versus BP.
Given the legislation floating around the Capitol aimed at curtailing such friendly activity by Hood, you would think the AG would stay at arm’s length from such dealings.
However, Hood has routinely attempted to justify his actions and has remained obstinate in the face of criticism, just as he will when the news of Moore’s hiring makes the mainstream media circuit.
Hood is seeking millions from BP as restitution for the oil spill’s impact on the state. Just imagine the legal fees Moore will collect from this deal, and he has his buddy Jim Hood to thank for it.
