Bryant delivers first State of the State
Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant had indicated that he wanted to flesh out policy issues in his first State of the State address that he had touched upon two weeks ago in his inaugural address.
He certainly revisited many in a sweeping, 36-minute address that suggested a combination of reforms and initiatives in his administration’s vision to bolster the state’s economic development, streamline and revitalize its educational systems and improve public health.
“It was a very bold agenda, a very comprehensive agenda, and an agenda that seemed to outline his whole term,” said Rep. Percy Watson, D-Hattiesburg.
