McDaniel – Miss. Republicans still face many challenges

LAUREL — For the first time since Reconstruction, the GOP holds majorities in both chambers of the legislative branch and a healthy slew of statewide officials, including the Governor’s mansion.

But with success comes the heavy responsibility of governing.

Although I hope principled conservatism prevails in a system based on limited government, capitalism, individual freedom and responsibility, a balance between liberty and order, and a commitment to moral virtue in both the private and public sectors, there are reasons for concern.
