Murder Victim’s Family Angry Over Barbour’s Pardon
A family in Tate County wants answers from Governor Haley Barbour after learning he pardoned the man they say killed their loved one.
According to MDOC records inmate Joseph Ozment was serving sentences for murder, armed robbery and conspiracy at the Governor’s Mansion in downton Jackson.
Ozment was convicted in 1994 and given a life sentence. The family of victim Ricky Montgomery said they’re devastated to hear Ozment would be released Sunday.
