Democratic challenger enters contest for Palazzo’s seat
Michael Herrington of Hattiesburg never had considered a run for public office.
But after watching the continued legislative gridlock in Washington, D.C., primarily because of the adamant adherence to party lines, the 27-year-old decided that a new voice for South Mississippi was needed.
Herrington filed qualifying papers earlier this week to run for the Mississippi 4th congressional district seat held by first-term Rep. Steven Palazzo.
