Selection of panel chairmen to decide direction in House
Regardless of party, some House members warn that lawmakers must work together – or campaign promises won’t be fulfilled.
“We really don’t have the time or the means to be caught up in excessive partisan conversation,” said Rep. Tommy Reynolds, D-Charleston. “We’ve got critical needs to be met.”
Rep. Ed Blackmon said he’s concerned a possible inability to get along will lead to inefficiency during the session.
“Look at national politics,” Blackmon, D-Canton, said. “If this continues, we’ll have the same kind of politics as Congress, where nothing gets done without bickering.
