USM has 3 weeks to gather tablets
The University of Southern Mississippi has three weeks to wrap up the inventory of all 700 Samsung computer tablets or pay for the tablets as missing state property, according to the office of state auditor Stacey Pickering.
But both Pickering and university officials say they are confident that all remaining tablets will be documented.
“We know that, as of last week, there are 20 or so odd tablets that have not been accounted for. They still have not been turned in, properly inventoried and back in possession legally of the university,” Pickering said.
