Palazzo appoints new spokeswoman

U.S. Rep. Steven Palazzo has hired Alabama native Laura Chambers as communications director for his congressional office.

Hunter Lipscomb, who has been serving as both spokesman for Palazzo and director of his district offices in South Mississippi will remain deputy chief of staff and district office director.

Chambers, 25, has been serving as a legislative correspondent, dealing with defense issues, for U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn. She previously was a staff assistant for Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., and has done campaign work and worked in the defense industry, for Alabama-based Techni-Core Corporation.
