Bill Minor reflects on meeting J. Edgar
As I was being ushered into the office of the Great One – J. Edgar Hoover, no less – I expected to find him flanked by two Praetorian guards and backed by a huge American flag.
Instead, there were no guards and just an ordinary size American flag on one side, an FBI flag on the other. No one else, just J. Edgar and I.
Hoover only briefly stood up from wedging himself on the front edge of his spacious desk to greet me, then promptly went back to his half-seated perch.
