Bryant invites input to shape legislative agenda
In a rare move, Gov.-elect Phil Bryant is planning to use input from hundreds of people to help him develop priorities for the first legislative session of his tenure.
On Thursday, Bryant, who will be sworn in Jan. 10, met with about 300 people – politicians, businessmen, lobbyists, agency heads and others – in a policy summit at the Jackson Marriott.
“We’ve got work to do and a short time to do it,” Bryant told the crowd during an opening session.
“If you have any individual concerns that would benefit you personally, leave them outside the door. This is about the people, about the future of the state of Mississippi.”
