Romney to be at Mississippi fundraiser today
JACKSON, Miss. — Organizers say Republican Mitt Romney will be in Mississippi on Wednesday to raise money for his presidential campaign.
The private fundraising luncheon is at the northeast Jackson home of Romney’s Mississippi finance chairman, Pruet Oil Co. executive Randy James.
Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, does not plan to do interviews or make any public appearances while he’s in Mississippi, said Austin Barbour of Jackson, who’s one of several national finance chairmen for the Romney campaign. Barbour told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the suggested minimum contribution for the luncheon is $1,000 per person, and he expects about 200 people from around Mississippi to attend.
