Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant has been running a populist campaign for governor for years and his ship has finally come in.
While not our first choice for governor, – Republican businessman Dave Dennis was – Mr. Bryant is a good man. He’s surrounded himself with competent staff and an array of knowledgeable advisors.
As lieutenant governor, Mr. Bryant has proven (as acting governor) that he can negotiate with prospective industry, captains of existing Mississippi industry attest. These corporate magnates have been impressed with his style, leadership and depth of knowledge.
As lieutenant governor, Bryant worked hard to ensure accountability in state government through key legislative initiatives…
…Leadership is not a popularity contest and for this time Mississippi needs a chief executive with backbone.
