Beef plant info requested for state civil trial
JACKSON – Attorney General Jim Hood wants grand jury testimony from the notorious beef plant scandal prosecutions.
He’s asking the U.S. District Court in Northern Mississippi to offer up the material to help his office in a civil lawsuit versus Facility Construction Management Group Inc.
Co-defendants also include the company’s principals, Robert L. Moultrie, Nixon E. Cawood and Charles K Morehead, who pleaded guilty to criminal charges in 2010.
The civil case is set for trial beginning Dec. 5 in Hinds County.
